As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed today, I came upon this quote from A. W. Tozer. On a day when our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Las Vegas and as we try to wrap our minds around the senseless act of violence that took over 50 lives and injured hundreds of other people, it is hard to remember that this world is not out of God’s control.
It is true that this is a sin sick world. It is easy to ask the question “why does God allow things like this to happen?” I have to admit, I don’t know the answer to that question. However, I do know that God knew it would happen and He was not surprised by it. We are saddened by the loss of life and our heart goes out to those families who lost loved ones. However, God is in control. It reminds me of the chorus of a song sung by Austin’s Bridge that says;
“Be not you weary
While on this journey
For you will reap
If you faint not
If dark clouds should rise
And thunder roll
Look to the Master
For He’s in control”
Regardless of what happens in this world … be it hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods, terrorist attacks, wars, rumors of wars or even personal difficulties involving finances, relationships, jobs or the death of a loved one, GOD IS IN CONTROL.
Our “Song Of The Week” sums it up pretty well too! Listen once again to “Fear Not Tomorrow”
We are continuing our tour through Michigan this week! We will be making our way to Indiana very soon!!!! We hope to see you along the way. Check our schedule page for more details.
I am sure that many of you remember singing that song when you were a kid! What an awesome thing to know that Jesus loves us! So often we think that God only loves us when we are good. Nothing could be further from the truth! God loves us always, He loves the same always and His love is the same always.
David Jeremiah said this about God’s love; “Parental love is unconditional, and so is God’s love. No matter what a child of God has done against Him, or feels he or she has done that cannot be forgiven, God still loves that wondering soul.” Yes, God loves you and is standing ready to forgive you for whatever you might have done, all you have to do ask.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son …” The words are straight from the Bible that God loves us. He gave His Son to die for our sins. It is the only way to be saved!
